I have been remiss in writing posts and can only give the excuse that I've been busy........or lazy! (In all honesty it's a little bit of both.....)

Kyle got married Saturday, May 17th, and if I say so myself, she was a beautiful bride. Milton rode with us and we picked Zeke up in Atlanta. We had to drive as we had a truck load of things to take with us. We arrived at Hammock Beach late Thursday and the guys (Don/Milt/Zeke) went to the beach for an evening stroll. I was unloading things for the wedding and thought I would have a stroke watching the men near the ocean. See...the thing is... a storm was arriving and the waves were over their heads (or at least that's what it looked like from my viewpoint). The waves must've been pretty high because when the guy's came in the room they were all wet...the waves got them!

Don had to pick Jason up at the airport on Friday so Milt and I took Zeke and the boys (Hayden and Zach) to the beach. Again...I spoiled all of the fun. I was so afraid something would happen to "little man" that while we were in the water I held his hand, and made Milt hold his hand, until Zeke had red marks on his wrists. Ok...I know...but if anything happened to him....well you understand.

When Jason arrived I left Zeke in his care. I was a nervous wreck with making sure Zeke was ok and the upcoming wedding. Later that evening we went to the rehearsal-walk through and met up with everyone in the lobby to board the busses to go to the pier. Me, Don, Zeke, Jason, Kyle, Darrell, Milt, Amber and Adam were on the last run. It was very exciting to see people already on the yacht waiting on the bride and groom.

Oh my God...that was such a great evening. We set sail on the intercostal waters for four hours. Food was to die for...(Kyle told the server who had the bacon wrapped scallops to "just stand by me for the entire evening")...drinks were flowing...and everyone seemed to have a great time. We watched a DVD slide show of Kyle and Darrell...and threw pennies off of the deck of the ship for "good luck" to the couple.

I have to say my three favorite memories of this event were: 1-) Kyle and Darrell watching the DVD of when they met, 2-) Zeke breakdancing on the dance floor with Hayden, and last but not least, 3-) Milton at the bar telling family stories. He had everyone in tears laughing at the insanity of it all. Literally...people were crying with laughter!

Looking back I would have a tough time deciding which one was better...the rehearsal or the wedding!

Saturday was the big day. Don and Darrell and a few guys played golf and the rest of the guys went to the beach. I, however, enjoyed an hour or so of "special time" with my daughter. I made sure she ate some food... and we talked... and she gave me a few "Momma" gifts that I will cherish forever.

As for the wedding, Kyle was stunning. Everything was perfect. Her hair, dress, flowers...I couldn't have wished for anything better. When her Dad walked into the room to get ready to walk her down the aisle I knew just by the look on his face....

I had no intention of crying. I was happy for the event and for the life Kyle and Darrell would have...but when she stopped and gave me the handkerchief.....with "I will always be your baby" stitched on it...well...I lost all composure.

The bride and groom were happy...the food was (again) to die for...everything was as we had planned except for the cake and the band. The band was drunk (the lead singer couldn't even talk)...and we had to go find them to play songs (in hindsight it's really funny) and the cake...well let's just say if it had been a "perfect" cake then the food fight wouldn't have occurred and the food fight made the evening.

We couldn't light the sparkler's for the goodbye and used neon tubes instead. But all in all...I wouldn't change one thing!
