For those of you who have children...........

This is for those of you who have children........children who, at this moment, are getting on your nerves.

Children who wake up before you are ready to do so.
Chidren who spill their pancake syrup all over the table.
Children who throw tantrums at the store because they can't get the toy they want.
Children who cry when it's time to take a bath, brush their hair, go to bed.
Children who get into your makeup to play dress up.
Children who don't listen to you.
Children who argue with you.
Children who tell you things that aren't true.
Children who drop nail polish all over the carpet.
Children who dip their toes into drugs.
Children who break your heart.

Yesterday I had the privilege of hearing from my two children (who did all of the above) and just realized that it doesn't matter what they do.

It doesn't matter that they wake you up before you're ready-you'll sleep a lot when they're gone.
It doesn't matter if they spill their food, or milk, or syrup...things can be cleaned.
It doesn't matter if they have tantrums...it builds strong lungs...gives them a voice and direction.
It doesn't matter if they don't like to bathe or brush.......they will do so eventually...on their own.
It doesn't matter if they get into your makeup...they're mimicking you...make it count!
It doesn't matter if they don't listen to you.....they will...and will call for advice through the years.
It doesn't matter if they argue with you...they're forming opinions.
It doesn't matter if they stretch the truth...it only matters if they know right from wrong.
It doesn't matter if they leave polish on the carpet....those are memories you will cherish.
It doesn't matter if they dip their toes into things you don't approve of...as long as they don't swim in it.
It doesn't matter if they break your heart....as long as they grow up and fill your heart until it could burst.

I am lucky.

I think I should print and frame this. You would love the book, "Let Me Hold You Longer" by Karen Kingsbury. Read it SOON and let me know what you think about it. It can be read in about 10 minutes because it's like a children's book. It's a phenominal book and you just may have written the sequel to it in this entry. I can't wait for you to read it!!
